Molly & Lucy

Trainer Bio:
My name is Molly and my Mustang’s name is Lucy, this is my first time in the Teens and Oregon Mustangs program. My goals for Lucy this summer is to get her used to as much as I possibly can such as, as many people, horses, surroundings, and obstacles as I can. We have learned so much already! This program is definitely life-changing!
Lucy is coming along very well! she is a super sweet little filly who loves is when you rub her ears. she is super willing to do what ever i ask her to do including backing through car washes, going side ways over barrels, and bowing.
We are a little over a third of the way through the competition! Lucy has proven to be a super calm little filly, would be an awesome trail or lesson horse. I have not yet had the time to take her very far from home, but the little trailer work she has done, she has done very well. She is also a natural when it comes to showmanship!
In the past few weeks we have gone as far as bathes,clipped on her head and feet, ties, lunges, and has gotten quite good with most aspects of showmanship.I have also had many more chances to take her places! we have gone to many places and she acts the same as at home. We have been to the Fair Grounds,Fitzgerald Farms, and a few other private barns. She travels very nicely and makes it easy.
A lot has happened since the last update. We just finished up fair with a blue in showmanship, a red in trail,and a blue ribbon in ground training along with a medallion. In August we will be headed to state to compete in ground training and showmanship. We also where in our first parade and she did great! now we are starting to really work hard on her conditioning before competition in August.
Lucy has been really good lately! we are preparing a lot for showmanship and ground training before state fair. She sticks all her turns, backs straight, and stops on a dime. She is such an amazing little horse!
Lucy got her feet trimmed for the second time today and she did really well. she was a little ancy st the end but was great other wise!
