Trainer Bio:

Hello, my name is Taylor and this is my gelding mustang, Magic. We have come so far since pick-up day on May 17th (12 days ago). There is already a big difference in his appearance, personality, and aptitude. I’m so excited to continue training this wonderful horse throughout the summer. Some of my future goals include tacking him up, working with a tarp, taking a walk outside and loading him into a trailer.

It amazes me how much Magic has changed. He has started to trust me and has become friendlier. He loves getting out of his stall. So far he:
    ∙ Ties great
∙ Picks up all four feet
    ∙ Trailers
    ∙ Lunges
∙ Performs basic Showmanship on side and off (still working on perfecting haunch turns)
∙ Walks over tarps and can have it draped over his body
∙ Has had a big exercise ball bounced and swung all over him
∙Doesn’t spook to grain bags, saddle blankets, whip or music
∙ Loves walks outside and grazing
∙ Brushed all over and doesn’t mind
∙ Can be haltered and unhaltered
∙ Been around dogs and is very interested in them

Magic is very curious and learns quickly. I am so grateful to spend my summer with such a funny, loving, smart horse. My next goal is to get his feet trimmed. I am also trailering him to a trail clinic tonight where he will be exposed to the outside world.

Magic is turning out to be quite an amazing horse!! We have been able to accomplish many things recently, including:
    • Saddling
    • Clipping
    • Ponying
    • Walked him in parade
    • Showed him in Open Saddle Classic Horse Show and won Reserve High Point In-Hand
    • Completes or goes through basic trail obstacles ( gate, mail box, poles, logs, brush, trash pile, drags log, over bridges)
    • Bows
    • Lays down
He is such a fast learner and willing to try new things. I can’t wait to take him to my county fair! I will be showing him in in-hand trail, showmanship and ground training classes. He is a totally different horse than he was two months ago.

Magic has turned out to be an amazing horse. He has taught me so much over the summer and I am so thankful I was able to take part in this wonderful program!! Over the past couple weeks Magic has improved tremendously!! We have been spent a great deal of time lately working on trial. I have taken him through a water box, car wash, brush, logs, bridges and much more. We have also mastered our showmanship. He sticks all his turns, walks, trots on side and off, side passes, sets up, and backs. We can do it all liberty too! Magic is bomb proof. He truly continues to impress me in everything we do. I’m really looking forward to the competition and hope he goes to a great home!
